Thread size on raw water strainer

I've noticed that the raw water strainers are available in several different thread sizes...but always x by x or y by y.

On my 2006 206 330 Excaliber, the hose from the pickup to the strainer is 1" and the hose from the strainer on is 1 1/4".

So the question is....what thread size are the strainer connections? 1" or 1 1/4" ..and is one of the nipples properly sized as a reducing connection ?

    Follow me?

RE: Thread size on raw water strainer

I cant remember what size the threads are- but Hope Depot carries the same fittings that SkiDIM does and it would be pretty easy to match up.

    1" hose barb

    1.25" hose barb

If youre asking if the strainer is the same on boats that use 1" cooling lines vs. ones that use 1.25", then the answer is yes- only the barbed fittings differ in size.

First question first...what thread size are the strainer connections? 1" or 1 1/4"

Your answer was "I cant remember what size the threads are".

I appreciate your help and honesty.

you can get the strainers in 1"x1" or 1 1/4x1 1/4 they make both
all the CC i work on have the 1" thread size. never really understood why cc stepped it up to 1 1/4 comming out of strainer. have had great results helping people with heat soak/vapor lock issues on the Z06 by replacing the through hull fitting to 1 1/4 along with the hose to strainer and the strainer itself. make everything an 1 1/4.
