    picking up my boat

they said they have taken care of everything and it's working like it should. should i hook it up to a hose at the dealer and run it for a bit to double check? it's 2 hours away so if i get home and they are mistaken life will be miserable. it's got a flush pro

If you are that far away I think a 10 minute run on the hose at the dealer is a good idea.

ya i think i'll do that. especially since my issue was a coolant leak they said they fixed. im 99% sure they know they got it right but i'll save myself a headache.

don't they have a setup to run the boat? my CC dealer has one and they always make it idle/rev up to make sure it's been fixed properly

ah, the wonders of Whitelake. Just take it across the road and drop her in! If in doubt, I'd definitely run it.

I was under the impression that it was policy for the dealers to water test after servicing. At least SECC did and I'm pretty sure Nautiques of Orlando does as well.

secc obviously did not water test or my boat wouldnt be at this dealer b/c they installed the closed loop and they didnt do it right which caused the coolant leak. one reason they sell mc's now

For your information Nautiques of Orlando does and will ALWAYS water test the boat. Especially on a closed cooling system installation.

Gride - do you ever have anything positive to say about any dealer or boat? I'm beginning to think you are one of those types that received a nice toy and is never satisfied with anything. So far we have read your tells of Mastercraft problems, Stereo install problems, and Now the ever so well thought out reasoning that your coolant leak is one of the reasons that SECC is now selling MC's.

Proves the age old theory in Retail.. A dealer does something good and the customer, if your lucky, tells up to 3 people about it... A dealer does something bad or makes a mistake and the customer tells ATLEAST 10.. Too bad its not the other way around.. Dealers these days could use all the help they can get.

if i was confident i could do the work myself i would. unfortunately aside from changing tires and fuses i'm pretty much useless w/ motors, etc. if i lived in a city the dealer was located in then it would not be that big of a deal. i did not get to use my boat the last few months of our season b/c i did not feel like driving 2 hours, dropping my boat off, driving home 2 hours. waiting, then driving another 2 hours to pick it up and 2 hours home again. my experience with boat mechanics is that they are slow and lazy. it took 100+ days for me to get my boat back this time. if people did their jobs correctly there wouldnt be any problems. imagine if a doctor made mistakes like i have spoken of on a patient. you shouldnt charge 100$ an hour if you arent worth that much ya know. if i was paying 60$ for labor i might be more lenient.-i think it's hypocritical for a dealer to go from only nautiques to mastercraft. it means they did something wrong because they had been open for a long time.

Rather than speculate why a dealer switched brands, get the story correct on your own and end this useless thread!!~!~!! Which has some nonsense about your inability to make a decision regarding a dealer you chose to do work on your Nautique.
