Hello everyone, I have a stupid question. I just got a 02 SANTE and my set up looks very similar to what is being shown, except i have the stock pumps for filling and emptying. Why do you need electric solenoids after the shut off valve for the intake ?
I am new to this and I really have no idea how my system works, but if you want to choose to fill one tank over another, you still have to have individual switches for each pump correct? Why can't you wire each pump to it's own switch and leave the manual valve on? What are the pros of having electric solenoids. Thanks.

the electric valve operate when the pump is turned on an doff, save having to open the engine hatch to open and close the tank hoses manually

I am tending to agree about the solenoids. I did a small amount of checking on the internet and it seems that valve setup is intended for volital fluids and thus probably safe. But not 100% sure on this statement. In any event, I doubt they are USCG approved. Seems you have to buy the valve and solenoid seperately.

David...I'm still waiting on the spec sheet to confirm. but yeah, they are made for the oil rig, etc business, so they should be okay. Not too worried about getting sparks from it. The solenoid looked pretty sealed and after siliconing where the wires go in, I'm pretty sure I could dunk them in water and they would be fine.

Not too worried. I always start the boat with the hatch up for a few minutes to check the belts and such before pulling it off the trailer.

Brandon...Is there a supplier to order the solenoids from, when do you think you will get a chance to test them?

Should get a chance early next week. They work so far, just have to test them with water flowing through them. If they work out, I'll let you know where yall can get them from.

I guess I was naive to think that I could work on the boat every day. Didn't get to any of it yesterday, but at least I was constructive.

                  Take this....

And make it look like this...

Got a little done yesterday afternoon....

                            Test fit

Look at all these pieces for just the belly tank. Had to go to HD to get the brass fittings. Too bad the plumbing supply place isn't open on Sundays because it cost me twice as much for all these parts.

Here it is finally assembled. You can see in the picture after this one where I had to rotate the manual valve about 45 degrees because I couldn't open the valve up because it hit the pump.

Got the valves and pump wired up to the cable.

                            Got all the cabling secured

Only got one tank put back in. You can see where I replaced one of the overflow hoses. I wish I had bought some larger tubing and replaced it all. The tanks aren't that bad to take out so I can do it another day.

Oh yeah, and my loving girlfriend came out to help and sanded the deck. Just gotta hit it with a few finer grits and she'll be ready for stain. Not gonna do the bottom as it still looks just as good as when I first did it.

Travis, no need. We are professionals at that. Shotgun!!!!!

Got the tanks put back in and the rear seat platform.

Were gonna try to go out today for a little bit. It's 60% chance of rain, but we'll see. I had to keep from pulling my same old crap and just throwing the stuff back into the boat just to get to the lake. So I made sure that everything was wiped down and revaccuumed before going back into the boat.

I was able to take some detailed measurements for the new sub box. Should be seeing a design coming out pretty soon. gotta put it into cad first.
