RE: duel batteries 99 v drive

Probably most have. I put mine on the port side behind the rear seat back (side) up on the upper level...it just fits. Since the SAN is sensitive to weight distribution, you want to put it on the port side somewhere. Good place for selector switch is under the starboard rear seat cushion.

I did mine on a 97 which should be the same. I used gel cells cause I didn't need to use battery boxes with them, they fit perfectly this way. I don't think battery boxes would have fit.

My #2 on my '03 210 is under the front bow cushion with the selector switch mounted under the dash pod. I bought it this way. It works but I would prefer to relocate to something similar Sbt3. Not a priority but on my to-do list at some point...

Mine is like DavidF. My selector switch in also under the rear seat on the starboard side. That way you can just lift the seat and make the switch instead of lifing out the seat back or opening the back hatch.

I am also in the process of doing this in my 98 super sport, but I have had some different opinions on the use of gel batteries in the UK, has anybody had any problems with them? I am also trying to decide on where to locate the changover switch as well, does anyone have any pics on where they mounted their's (apart from the one above)

Mine are exactly as pictured above. I went round and roundon where to put mine and maximize the space back there and ended up like that. I had a goal of fitting 750lb fat sacs and accomplished what I was after.

Mine is exactly as pictured above and I have the 750#'s in back. Switch is under the starboard rear seat.

I've got the same project on the go. the thing screwing me up is the extra wire i have on the positive lead. Does anybody else have this? the motor won't turn over without it. So, if i hook up a second battery without this, obviously i won't run on that battery. Do i just put the selector switch to "both 1 and 2"? What's the proper way to do this?

You need to have a battery switch and put the red wire on the common post. That way it wont matter what battery you have it switched on. That is the way I wired mine up.
