After skiing a couple of sets my oil pressure reads 16-18 PSI during idle. Is that normal? I always thought that your oil pressure needed to be at least 20 PSI during idle. Once you engage the trottle forward the oil pressure goes back into the normal range. Any thoughts?????

What weight oil are you using? Normally if you run a engine hard it will thin the oil out, then you have lower oil pressure at idle, but you say it jumps back up when you throttle up which is normal. General rule I have seen is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm, which works out ok for your situation. But always run a good quality oil(no 99 cent a quart oil from cheap gas stations). I prefer straight weight oils over multi viscosity oils in boats.
