Removing Seat Gas shocks 02 SANTE

I am removing all of my rear seats on a 02 SANTE to clean the carpet and pull the engine. What is the correct way to seperate the shock from the the pivot point that connect to the boat or to the seat. I have used pressure and it will pop off, but I want to make sure I dont break it. Is there a correct way?

I believe you can just "pop" them. There is also a little metal clip, that goes around the end of the gas strut, that you can pry off with a screwdriver.

Thanks, I was wondering how that clip came off. Any idea what kind of grease they use on the pivot ball.

I do not think they are greased. It is not like it is in constant motion. If I had to use a grease, I would use some grease from Mercury Marine, It is called 2-4-C grease, you can get it in a 10 OZ. tube, and it will last you a long time.
I do use this grease on the rudder, I do not have a zerk fitting, do I have to take my rudder apart to grease it, and it also works nicely on the platform brackets.
