    Looking for your opinion!!

I am wondering what your ideas are? I have a 93 Ski Nautique w/ a carburated ProBoss high output motor, 550 hrs on it. It runs (ran) strong for 7 years til i wrecked the boat.I never had to wrench on this boat. I then bought a sharp 95 Ski Nautique to replace it. It has the standard 351, fuel injected motor, 370 hrs. Do the experts here think its a good idea to swap motors? i have accesss to a forklift for lifting and Cal. Correct Craft mechanic told me its fairly simple swap. well, is this a worthwhile exchange? What is a wrecked 93 worth?

I personally would not do the swap. I would love to have injection on my 89. Carbs are a big pain in the ______!

the motor is about the most valuable thing in the boat but i would not recommend swapping the engines even though it is a easy swap to do. if anything swap the cylinder heads over to the new boat to gain the extra horsepower of the proboss.

95 had the Multiport injection and as far as I know its great. Unless it was run in salt or you know it has a problem I would leave it Your old engine is probably worth around 1500.00 on Ebay.

I have a friend that did an install on a GT-40 in a 1988 Ski. The boat I am told will haul *** at over 52+MPH. The engine was ordered from PCM and the motor box had to be reconfigured to fit the new engine.

nms1991, i had that discussion about just swapping heads with a mechanic, its simpler faster and lessmoving parts to swap engine/trans than heads.
Rick, you are right it is multiport EFI, i've had the boat only a month. it runs well, slight hesitation at take off but other than that its smooth. The 93 ProBoss boat ive had 8 years.
its carb. so its a little cold blooded in the AM, takes a couple mins. to warm up, then lookout. Also in the 8 years i have never had to touch carb or any adjustments. (change oil at 50 or less hrs, impeller every other season, tranny oil every 2 years, and one steer cable). Most of the hours have been on the slalom course at private lake.
I am going out this weekend, will test the 95 for top speed and see where it tachs out.
If i dont do this swap...(can you tell i want a project?) then im gonna be selling a lot of really well taken care of parts off a immaculate 93.
Nautiqueman, local Correct craft dealer said its about 12K for him to put a GT-40 in. I'd love that but its not in the budget, not even close. My swap will prob be less than $100.
