    Speedometer leaking water

Any suggestions how I deal with my speedometer leaking water? I looked under dash and there is NO WAY I believe I can get at the speedometer that way. From the front I took the glass cover off, needle etc, but couldn't figure out how to take speedometer unit out. Any suggestoins on what my problem probably is and how to handle would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

You have to undo the thumbscrews for the entire dash panel. Then you will have access to the backside of all of the gauges. There is a bracket that will be held on with two nuts and you can remove that and then pull the gauge out from the front side. If it is leaking, you can look for a couple of different things. The first might be a hose that came off and the second is possibly a blown diaphragm from improper winterization. If that is the case, you have to disconnect that line and plug it and then you will be without the use of that speedo.

          Thanks a million

I'll give er a try as soon as I get the alternator belt problem fixed. I am extemely amazed and appreciative of the complete response you gave me here. I'm confident that it'll be what I need but either way I really appreciate your help. You've done just about everything but bring your tools over and help.
