I am having a similar problem. Thought I had it fixed by replacing the idle air control valve but no dice. I have heard from a couple of people that the perfect pass can result in a high idle but for my 2003 it is all mechanical, i.e. just a cable connection. I have pretty much given up and am trying to get to a local pcm mechanic to look at it but I cannot find anyone around here that has capacity. Most local dealers and shops are telling me 1 month + before they could even look at it.
Mine will idle fine until I run in gear for 10-20 minutes. Put it back in neutral and the idle will jump up 100-200 rpm. Back in gear and then back in neutral and it will climb again. Shut the engine off and immediately restart and it will idle fine until you run in gear for a bit again and it starts all over, which makes me think computer or perfect pass.
Good luck and please post if you find something specific.2003 Air 216

well the same issue still occurs. after engine is warm the high idle begins and the effects are the same with or without perfect pass on. any ideas here? could the p.p. computer be screwed up or is it a throttle link/hose leak issue?

I am still having the problem as well. Did you find someone to run diagnostics to see if there is a "code" in the system? I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to find someone to look at it with no luck. We are going on vacation with the boat tomorrow so I will just have to deal with it for a while, which is quite frustrating.2003 Air 216

i agree it is very frustrating. is it at all possible this could be caused by having a little play in the prop? i noticed if i give mine some shakes it has a very small amount of movement. i sent a detailed letter to cc the other day about how the problem started and what's been checked so far and that others have this problem with no viable way of fixing it so hopefully they will get back to me with something that works.

My 05 ex330 will drop into a high idle after a run through the course, especially when it's warm outside. In my case, if I pull it just ever so slightly into reverse, it'll drop back down to 660 rpm idle. In the case of non dbw, the bypass is called the IAC, or Idle air control solenoid.Shane Hill

I replaced my idle air control valve earlier this spring which obviously didnt fix my problem. We just got back from vacation so I had a fair amount of time to play with it at my parents lakehouse. I did everything I could think of to try and isolate any parameters that affected it, but really didnt come to any conclusions. The problem occurs with perfect pass and without, the idle ranges from about 900 to almost 2000 when having the problem, dropping in forward or reverse does not seem to affect the problem. The only thing I can do is shut off the engine and restart, which puts the idle back at normal until I run in gear for another 5-10 minutes. The whole thing is very inconsistent which is frustrating.2003 Air 216

well i hav enot heard back from cc about my letter so im going to give them a call. im sure if i(We) work with cc, pcm, and maybe perfect pass we can get this problem solved. i know everyone will have a different answer, but what dealership has the most knowledgeable service department in the country on efi engines?

has anyone had a diagnostic done? i just got off the phone with orlando nautiques and explained the issue and he thinks it's something w/ the computer. he is going to call C.C., and pcm and see if they know anything. i told him that for me it all started with a closed loop install and he said that my computer might not understand it has c.l. and he mentioned a potentiometer or something like that i think. anyway, i'll let ya'll know what he says. i probably have to go to slidell and have the dealer read the code and fix it.

Just go back from the GL reunion, put my shroud on before we left and the problem immediately came back?? Removed the shroud and problem solved???
It must be related to the throttle cable somehow and PP may also be a part of it. Thinking I need to run without the dog house to see exactly what is happening with the cable while under load.
Craig, did you try that amongst your many tests????
Hoping we can find a solution!!!!!

I had a local guy adjust the throttle and perfect pass cables. He basically just pulled everything off and tightened everything up. After that, I had an issue where the shroud would interfere with a portion of the perfect pass cable and cause a real high idle around 2000 rpm. When I opened the engine cover, it was pretty clear that the cable was catching on the shroud. I pulled the shroud off and ran for a while, which fixed the real high idle but it went back to my typical idle issues- ranging between normal 650 to 1400 or so. I have a guy coming on friday who can run the computer diagnostics and hopefully tell me if there is an engine code associated here. At this point my amateur diagnosis is that it is a sensor; either the throttle position sensor or something similar. I will post what the result of the computer diagnostics is after Friday.2003 Air 216
