    ACME 1234 prop for wakesurfing

I wakesurf behind a 2001 SAN loaded with plenty of ballast and current am running an ACME 644. Does anyone have experience with a ACME 1234 for wakesurfing? Comment/recommendations appreciated. I've been getting ready for the upcoming season - new fuel filter / gel coat repair / IPOD / ballast pump replacement / etc., so might as well look at a new prop if it will enhance the wave and performance.

    thanks

RE: ACME 1234 prop for wakesurfing

I have a 2000 that I bought last year with the 536 on it - same pitch as the 644 just 1/4 inch larger. I just received my prop, a 1236 I bought with the site discount on here. The 1236 is what Delta recommended to me, and I think it is what you would want to. It has 13.5" diameter vs. the 14.5" of the 1234. I took the boat out for the first time yesterday with it, and wow does it jump out of the hole empty. If you happen to do any bare footing or slalom skiing, you don't want this prop. With empty tanks and just me in the boat, it maxed out around 41 mph on gps at a tad over 5000 rpm. I filled my ballast (2 750's in rear, 700 custom sack in locker, and the bow sack under the front seats - don't know exactly how much it holds) and it got up on plane much easier than my old prop, and help the speed much better too.

Bottom line is if you don't see the need to go much over 30 mph that often, or don't mind turning 4500 rpms if you do, you will love the performance of this prop. And, if you order it by the end of the month from Delta, you will get it at 25% of by giving the code from here - takes a $478 prop down to $358.

ACME 1234 won't fit an pre '07 SAN. Too large a diameter. Call ACME and they can recommend the right prop for you. When I called a few years ago the top weighted prop was the 856 but since have come out with a few more with similarities tot he 1234. If I remember I think they were the 1464 and one other but forgot.

dittos here. i put one on my 01 SAN and it made just the right difference. The boat didn't seem to struggle as much when fully weighted and loaded. They are EXTREMELY helpful if you call!!!

I second the above on ACME. Very helpful and know their stuff on Prop recomendations. I called and told them what I was looking for. They took a few minutes to ask me about my boat, the crew and weight I usually ride with and based on the info were able to reccomend a prop for me. no sales pressure, just very helpful. As for the prop reccomendation, I would say that if you are only going to be Surfing and or wakeboarding, go for the upgrade. On the other hand, if you like to Ski or barefoot, to stick with the 644 ans the upgraded prop will kill your top end speed. just my opinion.
