Pumpless Ballast - anyone tried this?

I'm wondering if anyone on here has tried to attempt a pumpless ballast system. I think Calabria (or sanger maybe) does this kind of system.

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with this, or am I going to have to be the guinea pig.

I'm looking to find out what kind of thru hulls you used, the design, supplier etc...
I'm also just wondering if its possible from a DIY standpoint

Check out MB Sports, I think they have about 2000 lbs, two tanks and they empty right out the bottom of the transom. I belive its gravity fed.

Thats awesome, I didn't know MB was using this system.

Does anyone know about the pickups to fill the bags with water, rather than empty. I have a feeling I might be the guinea pig for this one... I really want to try it as I think paying 250x3 for ballast puppies is absurd.

        Thanks

a few guys out here have done pumpless (cost of the johnno pumps here is about $500 AU)

sign up to www.wake.com.au and there are a couple o threads on there about them, some used scoops and another used a piece o thread pipe cut at 45 degrees as pick ups.

A couple o manufacturors out here don't run pumps, they run the lines out the transom, and the tanks are below waterline, so at rest the tanks fill (when the taps are open), then to dump you open the taps while on the plane

I think the drag bar moved up about an inch after she emptied. I wonder what the tires looked like with an extra 2k lbs in the boat. I hope it was tandem axle.
