Spark plugs from local auto store

Is there any reason why I couldn't buy an automotive spark plug? I know some products are marinized, but I don't think spark plugs matter. I found the Autolite 764 at my local Advance auto parts for $1.79. I could just go pick up 8 of them locally instead of online.

If the number on the spark plug is the same, it is OK. This is fine for spark plugs. Do not substitute automotive starters, alternators, distributors, or things like that. There is a design difference to shield sparks these electrical devices make from possibly igniting any fuel vapors in the bilge. Automotive fuel pumps or carburetors not OK, either.

I just did the same thing - bought some Autolite 764's for $1.79 from Autozone. Didn't see any reason not to, since they were the same thing I would've bought from SkiDim, for 1/2 the price.

You guys paid to much. I just bought mine for 1.74 from Schucks. Don't forget to gap them to .045 before you install them.
