What transmission oil for '97 (DD) with PCM 1.23:1 trans?

    I do the same as DanielC immediatly after launching and again after a workout. The temp and level rise some after a workout. I'd say if your water temps don't vary much and your level at any time is between 20% and 80% of the range...be happy and leave it alone. If you are close to either line, I'd watch it more carefully and then either add a little or take some out ...whatever the case is.

    There is one lake we visit that can get a little over 100F at the surface. That is probably my worst case adn 20F over my typical temp. That would cause a decent volume growth.

    I also don't check my fluid every outing.

      Not sure if you're familiar with the Austin area, but I'm typically on Lake Austin. In the dead heat of summer it will only get to 75F.

        I'm a UT grad BSME 91.

        What gets to 75F? Lake Austin? ...or your tranny fluid?

        The top secret heated lake to your east gets over 100 F during late August to early September.
