    trailer help required

I need a little help diagnosing a fault on my trailer. (twin axle with leaf springs). When turning a sharp radius turn I hear some creaking generally followed by a clunk - as if some part of the suspension is moving relative to another part. I have never really worked on leaf spring suspesions so don't know if this is a common problem or not? Either way I don't like it and need to get to the bottom of it. If worst comes to the worst, I'll disassemble and rebuild the suspension for each wheel but if anybody can offer pointers as to where to look first, it would be appreciated! Cheers,
    Al.

Try having someone drive the tow car and make a tight turn while you walk beside the
trailer. It may show you whats making the noise. I bought my new suspension parts from E trailer .com
they had it all . Good luck

I would start looking at the spring shackles first...just a hunch.

Will do. I'll look for damage or signs of movement and torque them up whilst at it. Would you suggest I look at the spring eye bushes also? I don't necessarily think the noises I am hearing are could come from a worn bush but working for an engineering thermoplastics company I could have some lovely new bushes made up that will seriously outperform those (if any) that are on the trailer now!

Yes definately...that is sort of what I meant when I said shackles. Seems to me that is the only moving part on the trailer other than the pivot link, so look at that too. Next, I would look at the brake assemblies.
