I'm trying to get some prop guard rollers welded on to my trailer because it drags on my driveway everytime I take the boat out. I've tried calling around in my area to find someone to help weld these things on, but nobody has given me much confidence. Figured I'd check to see if anybody on here was near me and could help out. Here's what I've got and here's what I'm trying to get it to look like...

Hey,
I'm in the Charlotte area, and I modified my trailer the same way. I've got a decent mig welder that I could help you weld those brackets onto your existing trailer. I did mine, but had to do more fab work, wish I could have found those roller brackets! All you need in a couple of small pieces of angle with the brackets, grind the paint, and we can zip it up.

Jack - your help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't found the need to buy a welder yet, so I've been caught in a bind trying to get these installed. The rollers were a little pricey, but seem to be really well built and have grease fittings, so I think they'll hold up.
Let me know when you're available. I've got a grinder and some paint, so you're welding skills should get me on my way. Feel free to give me a call - 919-413-0671

Sounds good. I live at exit 25 off of I-77. If it were more convenient, I could pull my trailer to you... doesn't make a difference to me.1993 Sport Nautique - SOLD 5/10

Jack - here are the measurements that we discussed:
Roller bracket:
width = 2-13/16" - call it 3"
depth = 2"
Prop Guard:
width = 3"
height = 1-1/2"
Based on these measurements, if we mounted the roller on the outside of the prop guard and the roller bracket is 3" wide, then I think the piece we weld going vertical towards the angle of the prop guard will have to be roughly 7-8" long... the angle of my prop guard is steeper than the one in the pic above. It's a Ramlin trailer.
Give me a shout tomorrow and let me know if you're able to round up any steel or if I need to track some down.
