    2000 SAN subwoofer hookup

Hey, I'm trying to add a sub to my 2000 super air. I have all new JBL speakers and a brand new Clarion Stereo. How do I run the power to the amp? is there a possibility to power the amp with the 12v accessory button from the dash. That button controls a yellow wire under the dash with 12volts of dc power, only pronblem is, it's like a 16 gauge wire. is that enough juice to power a good amp? I know i'm going to need an extra deep cycle battery too. I only have one battery right now, and it's on the starboard side. I'll put the new one on the port to balance the weight. Any input or pics will be greatly appreciated! THanks!!

You need 12 v positive from a battery along with a negative of the same size wire. You should use the 12v remote turn on from the head unit to turn on the amp - that way you do not have any extra steps in getting the entire stereo to function. Parallel the batteries so you'll be able to draw on 12v for a longer period while at rest.

is there any way though to have the 12v accessory swith connected to the amp, so i can turn off the sub woofer at the touch of a button, and leave he stereo on at the same time?

Your deck may likely shut the sub off with a button. All mine do.
Your amp needs to be direct cabled to the battery.

You can run the small remote wire to an accessory switch. Just make sure you run the main power direct to your battery. I have my amps on one of the accessory switches.
