HI all,
I have a year 2000 SAN wit the GT 40. I would appreciate some help from you on this. It has been getting progressively hit and miss on starting lately. It is keypad ignition and when I attempt to start, there is a loud click and all electrics cut off ( both lights on keypad die). I can bypass the positive wire to the solenoid with a jump lead from battery and it will fire up. I cannot seem to get hold of any info on the engine and I am in UK so dealers are not very good.
I have searched the boards and the only thing I can guess is the starter relay? I take it this is under the ECU and has a positive wire in and a positive wire out ( to solenoid).
Would I be right in thinking change this first or is there something else I should check. Parts are very expensive here so I want to narrow it down as much as poss.
I am competent mechanically but I am not so good at tracing electrical. If it helps, I have tested voltage to solenoid and it is 12.8 ( same as battery ).
Appreciate any help fellas, the sun is out for once in Blighty!
