invertaflow muffler

does anybody know if its possible to remove the inveraflow muffler and just run straight exhaust for better sound and more hp?

I too have wondered about this, would it mess anything up, would it trip a code, how to do it etc.......Anyone?

But maybe not legal on most public lakes. For instance, I know that in Texas, you must have a sound attenuating device of some sort. No maximum decibels are listed, just says boat must be equiped with sound attenuation device as fitted by factory. In other words, they allow for the home built boat that does not have any "muffler", but might ticket the person that modifies a factory boat.
