Boat won't go up to speed

hey guys, i went out totay and every thing was good for a hour and a half.. my first run was good and then the second run the boat would go only up to 12mph and then suttered like no power but will idle at 12???? and the engine ck light came on. i ck'ed the rotor and cap and looks like new. any of you ever had this happen ? i have a 02 sante. any help would be great... thanks

Fuel Filter was my first guess as well.

I think the computer is kicking into limp home mode. I don't have any idea what the underlying cause is, but I'm pretty sure, that's what is happening to you.

Doesn't the knock sensor do some funny stuff like that if it is disconnected or bad ?

I've had the same issues with fuel filters and with a temp sensor. The temp sensor would send a signal to the alarm of overheating but the guage and temperature was correct and OK.

The first week I has my 07 210 it acted like that. It was an electronic thing---throttle modulator or something.

just went down to WL Marine and talked to David and he belives that it is the oil sensor so i got it and i will try that today i hope, also replacing thermostat and the 2 hose's coming off the housing. will let you know how it goes thanks

Hope that does the job......had similar problems twice. Once was elec. control module, other was fuel filter.
