CTEK manual would agree with everyone else (but that stupid site I linked). By the way, I have a CTEK 3300 which came with a little quick connector with wires and ring terminals. The manual does not really say what this is for, but I assumed it was to leave on your battery so you can hook your charger up quickly and easily. However, the ring terminals are smaller than the standard US wing nut posts. Anyone know if I guessed right as to the purpose of this thing, and if so, anyone else been able to use it? I wonder if I was sent one that was designed for the Euro market. I have not used it yet.

i have the 7000 series. in the manual it states if your black wire is the ground then first connect the positive cable, then the negative(ground). and do the reverse when removing. the terminals are so you can leave them on the battery and then just hook up the ctek w/o using the clamps.

Yep, that's what I thought they were for. Mine don't fit on my optima wing-nut terminals even though they are standard size.

              Harddock (and others),
It's pretty easy to check for a parasitic load if you're worried if something is drawing current all the time. You'll need a VOM (volt-ohm-meter) or a DMM (digital-multi-meter) . Plug the test leads into the 20 amp port (some only have a 10 amp - it's fine) and the common. Disconnect the neg battery cable at the battery. Now connect the meter between the battery neg. lug and the neg. cable. A parasitic load will now flow through the meter and be indicated. Turn off breakers (or pull fuses) one at a time until there's no reading on the meter. That's you parasitic load! If there is more than one device on a breaker such as the "accessory" then you'll need to disconnect the wiring to each device.

                RE: Re: RE: Battery Electrical

There is a second connection on the + side of the battery and I haven't traced where to it goes but if something was wired direct to the battery I 'd guess there is my draw. There are no aftermarket accessories on this boat. The
(-) cable was off for winter storage. All breakers on dash and switches were off when battery was reconnected.
