    211 Transmission service help??

Hey all, It's been a while since I was on here last but I am looking to drop the boat in the water for it's 4th season and haven't yet replaced the transmission fluid. The boat has very low hours on it but I thought it would be good to replace.

Am I getting into something I should let the dealer handle or is this something I can do? I have the vacuum oil remover that I use on the engine. Will it work here as well?

What fluid does it take? Dexron? From what I did read it looks like dino oil is the way to go. Is there a filter to replace like a car?

I searched on the subject but found nothing specific to the late model 211's.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Chris
Really wishing my dealer could have gotten me a service manual...

Sweet! Hopefully the 2006 manual will work as the 2005 211 manual isn't there.

      Thanks for the link!

Can't remember if 06 or 07 was the year of the tranny and/or v-drive change?

Gotta run, if you still can't find it by tomorrow PM me and I will pull up my 2005 211 boat cover and see what it says on my trans for fluid. For some reason I vaguely recall that my manual is not correct with respect to trans or V-drive fluid.

look on the transmission - it will have it on there (btw, the manual was wrong).

The type of trans fluid to use is Dextron III/Mercon II trans fluid and you have to pump it out through the dipstick hole and there is no filter you can change. And they did change the V-drive in 07'.
