    New speedo pitot

Picked up a new speedo pitot from dim to replace a broken one. Will I need to do anything other than bolt it up and fill the unused holes with 5200? I guess what I wondering will it basically be plug and play?

    Thanks

    RE: New speedo pitot

I just replaced one of mine, you only have to:

    - undo the 3 lock nuts
    - pull the tube off the end
    - slide the old one off the bolts
    - install the new one.

The black tubing is just held in place by friction.

He had airguide pitots unlike yours. You can use the two bottom holes if you open them up some. Just leave the top one out you dont need it. That wasy you dont have any new holes in your boat.

Yea should have mentioned replacing the airguides, or whats left of the airguides. I wondered if I needed to move it lower on the transom, but by your suggestion of using the two original holes I am guessing not. I was hoping that was the case.

        Thanks!

You need to drill the new pitot pickup mounting piece to match the holes on the boat IIRC. Put a little 5200 in the holes to seal and just screw it on. Attach the tubing and you're good to go. One hole left and right of center will hold it on fine.
