installing new skins on rear hatch

Just recieved my skins and went to buy some stainless staples from lowes. When I started reading the box it said not for marine use. Do you think it means not to put under water or maybe even in salt conditions. I boat in central Alabama so no salt. What are some of y'alls opions on this. Or whats a store I can get proper staples?
    Thanks

If they are indeed stainless steel, you will be okay. There are different grades of SS and some grades handle the marine environment better than others. But, like you said, no salt and not under water. So, you are not really in a marine environment, but more like a back deck/patio environment. They will work fine. Or, you can use Monel staples that are even more corrosion resistant than the the SS staples. But, they are softer and tend to bend when driving into harder materials. If your deck is like mine, it has the plastic strip screwed around the perimeter of the hatch for stapling. If so, no problem using Monel staples.

Thanks I might try to find some of the monel staples and if no luck just use the stainless. Thanks again

My dad had some seems sewed but he had to take the skins off and take them to a shop. I also had some sewed up on my 86 but once again had to remove them. As long as the material is still soft and in good shape it should be fine to get repaired.
