I am trying to replace the speakers in my 216 and they are set in the large plastic covers and the factory speakers are covered with a cloth mesh. I can't figure out a way to one get the old speakers out and the new ones in without tearing the spaeker covers off. Anyone else gone through this and have a better idea?

Speakers covers
Not sure if yours is the same but on my 226 I removed the whole speakers pod. I had screws down low probally two, remove them and slide the whole pod up to remove. If its like mine. The covers are held in from the back with 3-4 screws into a nylon ring that is covered with the fabric. I replaced mine with POLKS. I had to use spacers behind the mounting rings of the Polks so they would fit properlly.2012 Team Ski Nautique ZR409

RE: Speakers covers
Thanks Jaybird that should help alot! It looks like maybe there is a bracket half way up on the side so I may have to remove the upholstery to get to it. I did see two screws down low on it. I wonder if that is all that is holding them on. I did not get a chance to see if they were bolted on anywhere.

I was able to remove the cup holder and work a small screwdriver in to remove the screws that hold the PVC ring that the cloth is mounted to. Once the screws are out you can remove the cloth cover and expose the speaker. You might try that first before you take apart the upholstery. Then you will find that the speaker is mounted from behind the panel - i destroyed the speaker by cutting it apart to get it out. I mounted my polks from the front and put the polk grille on it and it looks like a factory installation.
