    SANTE 210 '06 Issues

I've noticed the following issues on my '06 SANTE. Does anyone else have the same experience? Here they are:

    1) Belly ballast fills while underway without pump turned on
    2) Port ballast empties after being filled
    3) Serious squeak in engine compartment at idle speeds (idle, water pump, belts??)

Local dealer has not been able to reproduce at the shop but I'm dealing with these while on the water.

ANd another for the belly issue - that would be it - have the impellors been changed to the newer ones in your pumps?

Same for belly issue on our previous 06 210. And I know another 06 210 with the same problem.

A little trick, when the tank is empty, turn your pump on for filling for 2 seconds so the rotor is set the other way. Still your belly will fill, but not as fast.

I'm dealing with the same engine noise in my 04 210 as we speak. I received a call from my mechanic today, who stated he found the issue in the starter. The squeak does not occur every time and came from no where last week. Once the boat is put in gear, the noise disappears. I think it has something to do with the starter staying engaged, and once put in gear, it pushes it out. He'll be pulling the starter next week to see if it needs to be replaced, so I'll try and provide an update at that time.

As far as the belly tank, isn't there a ball valve on there? I know the earlier ones had those crappy T valves. I closed off my underside thruhull and have them out the transom now. Just shut the valve when you do not want to fill them. As for the port side draining, whatever you have acting as a check valve is failing. With respect to the starter staying engaged, I do not think that would sound like a "squeal"

The dealer will take the boat out today and check the issues. I'll let you know what they find.

WakeSlayer, you are probably right. My noise isn't as much of a squeal, so it may not be the same issue. I'm interested to hear what the dealer says though. Keep us updated...

                    2) Port ballast empties after being filled - My port side tank was doing this for a while. Dealer installed a new impeller and it no longer empties.

Puckhead ask your dealer to check if they need to install a update on the face of the pickup to prevent it from filling while moving. That is a weird one having the ballast empty while it sits there unless it is leaking into the bilge and causing the squeaking noise as the belt is getting wet.

So here is the update... A new belt took care of the squeaking. We test drove it out on the lake today and it's all good. The belly will need a retrofit part on the in-take. The port issue is still open and they will talk to CC about it.

Quick update on the ballast issues. It seems that CC are recommending a change to the impellers. I'm currently using a set of yellows. The new ones are green and are stiffer. I'm going to pick them up this week and test.
