Replacing Floatation Foam and Floor - Tips

Hello
I am replacing the floatation foam in my 90 SN this weekend along with the first layers of flooring. Does anybody have any tips on mixing or pouring the foam into the hull?
And how many layers of the fiberglass do I need to complete the floor project? The original floor is about 1/8" thick.

Just mix and pour the foam. YOu will have to do it in multiple layers. After you get all the foam poured in, you have to cut it flat...many methods to do that, just find one that works and go for it. Rasps work great for fine tuning.

Most people just put down a plywood floor and glass over it. If you go this route, think about the increase height of the floor and what problems that may cause. Otherwise, you need to just lay up the floor to get back to about 1/8" thick. I would think about 4-6 layers alternating between woven (cloth) and matt...starting and engine with matt. It all depends on the weight of material you purchase. If you go this route, use a fairly high density foam as the foam will be bearing most of the floor loads.
