    slow cranking

OK, so now it has decided to crank over slowly with a charged battery and the negative battery terminal is hot to the touch while the positive side is warm to the touch. does this mean i need new battery cables? i'm about to drag this thing into a field and set it on fire.

    RE: slow cranking

Sorry I can't answer the first question. But on the second, I would take it out on the lake a sink it before I pull it to the field to burn it. Ins. company will have a much easier time proving fire vs. oh I backed it in the water forgot the plug and it would start. JMO

I'm having a simular issue, so I'm going to trouble shoot.

Clean the battery terminals, make sure the ends are tight. The terminals should not get warm, the cables might get a tad warm if it cranks for a some time.

On my slalom boat (my buddies boat that I have access to) we had a few year old battery that had lost it's charge a few times. It was a slow cranker. I went down to Costco and grabbed a $60 battery and all was like new. Considering that's less than the cost of a tank of gas it's a good investment. My 2005 211 is also on it's second battery but that is because I relocated the starting battery and needed to go with an AGM so I could put it on it's side.

If I were in your shoes, I would grab a new battery if it's more than a year old or if it has been drained..
