I'd go with the ACME #422, if you have the 1.23:1. I put one on my '95 Ski and it runs smooth and significantly reduced the cavitation when turning to the left.

well, my problem now is that I actually have the 1:1 transmission as I discovered today. so I either need to get a left hand prop or a 1.23:1 transmission.
what kind of torque loss can I expect with a 1:1 transmission and a left hand prop as compared to the 1.23:1? not sure if I want to dump money into a transmission too? unless of course someone has one for sale here for a good price!
Ah, so you had one of the semi-rare (in the 90's anyways) reverse rotation 351w's matched to a 1:1. Cool. Sorry for the bad recommendation- I was assuming you had the 1.23, obviously.
I would strongly recommend keeping the RH prop on the boat if theres any way for you to do so. Youre correct in that the easiest way to do that is to add the 1.23 trans. The LH prop that you'd want with that combo is an Acme 541, but thats not the way I would go. The hull was designed with a RH prop in mind and wont handle or behave the same with a lefty.
since I can't seem to find a readily available rebuilt tranny, I think I'm going to go with your recommendation of an Acme 541 for now so I can get the boat on the water by the end of the week. I will look at the transmission swap for next season.
unless of course, someone pops up today with a 1.23:1 transmission for me, ready to go!
Dont forget to reindex the pump in the tranny to switch it from the RH engine to the LH.
Airtool is correct- tranny mounts are different on the 1.23. I dont believe the engine mounts change, though..
Personally, Id do it right the first time (and get the 1.23) rather than spending $300+ on a prop you wont be able to use later and doing the whole job twice- but thats just me!
ok, peer pressure works! my local nautique guy got me one at cost from pcm for $1300'ish, so I'm going to do it right the first time around and be done with it.

The 1.23 has the 9 degree change in shaft angle. I was thinking the 1.0 didn't have that and that the engine was angled to match prop the shaft angle.
Thats correct- the engine sits flatter with the 1.23. The engine height at the front is roughly the same (engine mounts dont change) but the tranny sits up a bit higher (hence the need for taller tranny mounts).
