RE: How to change out prop in 95 SS Nautique
You need a prop puller. Sorry there is no easy way to do it. Right tool for the right job. See if you dealer will loan you one. Maybe give them a deposit?2001 Super Air Nautique

gmt,
If your prop comes off without a puller then it was never installed correctly. If it can be repaired or you end up with a new prop, take a look at this: http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum...&KW=proper. The lapping procedure is especially important if you get the new prop.

RE: How to change out prop in 95 SS Nautique
Prop puller and a BFH. I've swapped out props while the boat was in the water and its not fun! With the boat out, just remove the cotter pin, back off the nut, attach and ticghten up the puller and then start tapping on the prop neck with a hammer to break it loose. Not that hard really.Player\'s Edition SSN. Pimpin\' the rest....

Clarification: When Rock_Toy says "back off the nut," be sure to only back it off to the end of the shaft and not take it off the shaft just yet. When the prop pops from tightening the prop-pull it will pop hard. Keeping the nut on the end of the shaft will prevent the prop from falling off, hitting the ground, and damaging the prop, not to mention any bodily parts between the prop and the ground. Once the prop is free, you can take the nut off while holding the prop. The key will be either on the shaft, in the prop, or on the ground.

It is a shame that the boats from the factory must not have the prop installed correctly.
I say that because I have removed no less than 4 factory props with a 2"x4" and 20 oz hammer.
Just several decent taps working around the circumference of the prop and "pop".
Always leaving the castle nut on just a couple of threads to catch the prop.2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

So I have a prop puller and when I connect it the rudder seems to be in the way of the tightening bolt. I can't seem to fit the "c-clamp" style puller on there without removing the rudder or modifying the puller. Has anyone ran into this problem? Do nautiques have the rudder abnormally close to the prop.
I have a 95 SS.if con is the opposite of pro, is congress the opposite of progress???
