Help needed to get boat up and running

    Hello fellow nautique owners,
Im in need of alot of help to get my boat up and running for the season ahead. My boat is a 1998 ski nautique, however im unsure of the exact engine model. Ive attached a photo if anyone could tell me what exact model it is. Model number is PL PRR12, and there is a date along the bottom of 9/24/96. Once i know the model i can search these forums for more help to get it up and running.
    Your help is much appreciated.

      Thats great, thanks.
When i attempt to start it, just to set if it will fire up for a few seconds, all i get is one click sound on every turn of the ignition.
Any ideas on what it could be / what i need to do?
From looking through this forum i have established that its probably the starter solenoid.
I cleaned the battery terminals to make sure it wasn't a poor connection.

That happened to me last weekend. Turned out to be very corroded battery terminals. Cleaned them off and cleaned off the clamps and no more trouble.

Having trouble finding the right solenoid. Is there a model number for the starter solenoid that will work in this engine?
Where is the best place to get this part in the UK?

Just on a side note, what exactly is the component to the left of the starter solenoid?

It is the main circuit breaker for the engine

Ok guys, got the new solenoid installed but still only getting a clicking sound everytime the ignition is turned.
I don't think its the battery as it was only bought last year, and I have tried another battery from my caravan and same thing happening.
Stater solenoids new, so does this mean i need a new starter motor?
(Note: When i first tried starting the engine this season it cranked once than nothing but clicks. which is why i got a new solenoid.)

I would pull the starter and have it checked. They sometimes develope a flat spot. Also, check the ring gear on the flywheel. I have seen them with buggered up teeth that will not allow the starter to engage. Check your voltage at the solenoid and at the starter. If not 12+ you have a wiring issue.

As far as the running issue, make sure you have fuel and spark. How long has the boat been sitting? Just as a WAG, I would suspect the carb. Hollys are great, but have a tendency to gum up if they sit for very long. Another place to check is the distributor. If there is moisture or corrosion inside the cap, it can cause some strange running issues.

Pulled the starter off and got it fixed. Its now starting to fire up!

Can anyone give me the best way to run the boat out of the water?
I read somewhere about hooking up a hose to the water pick up.
