After a short day of wakeboarding, we were loaded up and headed in when the boat stalled and seemed to lose power at the transmission - the engine RPMs (at about 2500-3000) dropped and started to surge. The check engine light came on. Everything reacted normal up to the 2500-3000 RPM range so we were able to make it in however any speed above that we would get the same power loss and surge. Any ideas of what's going wrong here?
