2001 Sport Nautique Digital Speedometer replacements

2001 Sport Nautique DIGITAL Speedometer replacements???
Anyone have some ideas on this? Teleflex made them originally then sold out to V# Instruments. They say call Correct Craft. They say they have a Faria Kit that needs paddlewheel and instruments are analog now???
    Thanks

Gauges were a known point of failure. Had mine replaced 4 times before I finally gave up and moved to the Farias. I understand that the orignal teleflex gauges are getting pretty hard to find. I think you're going to have to do some calling around, and get lucky to find a set.

The Faria replacement is a good option, and if you already have the perfect pass, the paddlewheel is already installed.

The Faria kits look 100% better.

RE: 2001 Sport Nautique Digital Speedometer replacements

I have had the same problem with the gauges on my 2001 as JTSHUTTLEBUGS indicated above. I believe I had 4 sets replaced on warranty. Although my gauges are working fine at the moment, I want to look into a more "permanent" fix. Does anyone have a link to check out the Faria kits that are mentioned above? As well, any suggestions on where to purchase and comments regarding install would be greatly appreciated. I already have a paddle wheel installed with my Perfect Pass, so that isn't a concern.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The install is quite easy, remove the dash cut and crimp a few wires, remove and install new gauges. I purchased the kit from the forum sponsor White Lake Marine (http://www.planetnautique.com/module...anuals/WLM.htm) and used the PN discount too.

You will have to either record your engine hours, and start over with your new hour meter found on the RPM gauge, or hook a 12 volt source to the new hour meter and add hours to reflect your current engine hours.

I just installed the Faria guages in my boat at the start of the season. When you buy the full kit, (paddle wheel included) it comes with step by step instructions that even make mention to the old Teleflex guages. I did not have a paddle wheel installed, so I brought a new hole saw bit home from work and prepared to drill. After looking at how smooth and perfect the hull of my boat was I lost my nerve (there is something unnatural about drilling a hole in the bottom of your boat). I ended up taking it to my mechanic and he drilled the hole and installed the paddle wheel for $100. I did the rest of the install myself and had no problems. Switching back from digital to analog is a huge improvement in my mind. The color of the digital Teleflex screens made them almost impossible to read when the sun was on them.

I installed the Faria guages, too. Before you drill for the paddle wheel, practice on a piece of wood. It will make that knot in your stomach a little easier to tolerate when you get ready to drill a hole in your boat.

My speedometer on my 2000 air went out and I am considering replacing it with perfect pass, any comments or advice on this swap?
