I have what seems to be at least a gallon of standing water in my 93 Sport ski locker left over from a long active day on the lake... a week ago. That water is starting to get a little nasty and I'd like it gone before it stinks up our ski bindings. The drain hole for the locker seems to be about an inch up from the bottom, which doesn't allow every bit to drain into the bilge. I've maxed out the height of the tongue jack, and it still doesn't completely drain out.
I'm considering drilling another smaller hole (maybe 3/8"?) just below the drain hole to allow all the remaining water to completely drain out- is there anything wrong with doing this? Did the slightly elevated drain hole serve a higher purpose?
On other trips the locker didn't hardly retain any water, so I don't suspect it is taking on more water than normal. Our last trip was just particularly long and soggy (ended with a hard rain shower on the way home).
Thanks,
Tim
