Retrofit Excalibur 330 to DBW

I thought I had read a post many months ago about the costs and parts needed in order to retrofit a 330 Excalibur from wired throttle to drive-by-wire. I cannot find the post after multiple searches and what I have found is not what I am looking for.

So the questions are: 1) Is it possible to retrofit a 330 Excalibur engine (2005 if it makes a difference) from wired throttle to drive-by-wire? 2) If yes, what are the parts needed and costs involved?

I would also be interested in knowing if anyone has done it.

I have not done one yet but you will need a new throttle body computer brackets for the throttle cable, tac, wiring harness and a adapter for the boat harness to motor harness, new faria box, possibly new harness to adapt to zero off if you want to update to it.

We started pricing out the pieces. It was going to run about $7000 including the ZO. The harnesses, faria box, ecu, and z0 are each 1000- $1500 items.

Thanks for the responses. It seems that the parts are straight forward to install and could be done by a do-it-yourselfer. $7K for getting DBW and ZO certainly beats changing the boat for in order to get these features. Now the question, to do or not do to???

Really? 7K plus selling your 2005 boat doesn't equal getting a newer boat with DBW? 7K just to get ZO seems like an outrageous waste of money. Why not just get PP Stargazer?

Hey Twin Tip, what model boat.
I looked into it on my 05 196 but ended up bagging it and going with new (for multiple reasons).

Might be worth looking around and seeing what you could get in your local market for yours. Some good deals on 08's right now.

The boat is an '05.

I looked into changing the boat for a newer model with DBW and ZO but gave up on the idea some time ago; I also do not mind having PP since I am not a competition skier. The DBW would be nice to have but similar to the ZO, I can do without. Ultimately I would not pay so much money for making a change for something that I basically already have with PP, although there are differences. I have also considered SG but for what I need, the Digital-Pro is sufficient.

The question came about because I was talking to some people who might be interested in making the change and I remembered reading a post regarding this subject. During the talk one option that was discussed was to change the engine for a newer model (I believe they cost about $8k so this makes even less sense, especially because there would be other parts to add, including ZO), which I understood some people have done, and the other was to retrofit to DBW and ZO which seemed less expensive, hence my post inquiring on this subject.
