Help with finding steering cable

Hi,
my 2002 SN 196 steering cable is toast. I have tried Whitelake and was told they are waiting for delivery from CC, they don't know when they will be back in stock. I've emailed Dealers here in Canada and have had no luck so far, Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site.

You have to get a CC cable as they have unique lengths and throws to them. I would get on the phone and pester the daylights out of every dealer you can find a number for.

Check with site sponsor N3 Boatworks. They might be able to help, and you'll get 10% off!

You might also check with NautiqueSkins. They are really expanding their parts offerings. I don't know if they have steering cables or not, but it would be worth a shot.

Phil, have you had any luck finding a cable yet? I'm in the same boat, no one has any in stock and aren't sure when CC will ship them.

SkiDIM doesnt carry the Correct Craft specific steering cables. Starting with the 2001 hull in 1982, Correct Craft cables have oddball lengths and longer throws than the standard cable. You cant get these cables anywhere besides a dealer- not even directly from Teleflex.

Try Lake Area Watersports 352-475-3434.That's where I got mine and I think they had an extra. There was also a dealer in Tenessee. I found these sources by sending an e-mail to the Corrrect Craft dealer list.
I got 2 or 3 helpful responses from some very nice people.

I checked with my dealer and they have some but they are all spoken for. Seems to be a serious issue for this summer. Hope mine holds out...
