floors for 84 2001

i have an 84 2001 and was vacuuming my floor and the carpet ripped ive been trying to hold off till winter to redo the carpet..

so heres my ? when the carpet ripped i noticed that the wood has glass over it is that true for all 2001s or what i thought it was wood no glass?

and one mor ? where can i get the carpet edges the black plastic pieces where the carpet connects so you cant see the crappy cut i make...

the wood is glassed to help keep it from rotting. Correct craft may have the edges...or go to Lowes and get creative. Good luck
