    Jabsco Ballast puppies

I FINALLY finished my ballast setup with 4 pumps 4 bags and 4 thru-hulls. I got out to test it yesterday amd WOW!! the only problem I ran into is that one pump constantly sticks. I will fill and then switch to empty for a short burst. When I am ready to empty the pump wont start. I take the impeller cover off move it a little manually and then it works fine. I tried leaving the screws a little loose and that didnt help. It actually caused the pump to loose prime occasionally. The pumps have the Yellow impellers in them. Any suggestions??? Also off that topic I noticed that the light on the dash next to the blower switch that says "do not operate if light stays on above 1200 RPM's" flickers. It didnt do that last year. Could that be a wiring issue or could it be bigger than that? Boat is a 01 SAN with GT-40. Thanks in advance.

the flicker is fine as long as when you hit it it goes away. oh and lucky, would you mind telling me how much it was per pump?

I think the yellow impellers are the ones that replaced the original ones that were recalled, and last I heard the yellow ones were recalled as well and replaced with, I believe, green ones. I'm sure someone will chime in and confirm, or correct me.

As gride commented the v-drive light flicker is OK as long as it goes off once the engine gets above 1000-1200 rpm in gear. Otherwise, the oil may be low, or there is a problem with the sender unit/wiring.

****, that's a steal for those pumps. i guess you need to take it in for a diagnostic. i've actually never met a nauti where the light didn't go off, i always wondered what it's for really since there's a check engine light too. good luck.

Im Itchin to get out and ride. If the oil level is fine and the light doesnt go out then it could just be a wiring/ sending unit problem?
