    Hoses Going Nowhere???

    Hey Everyone,

I was just giving my 2007 SANTE 220 the once over and I noticed a few things that for some reason I never noticed before.

First off, when I turn on the blower I noticed that it only blows out one side of the boat. There are vents on both sides of course but I can only feel air out the starboard side vent. Is this normal?

Having discovered the potential one-sideed blower issue, I started to look around at air hoses. I noticed that on the port side of the boat there's a black, dryer vent type hose that comes from the blower vent exhaust area on that side of the boat and into the port side trunk compartment and just ends not connected to anything. What's up with that?

Equally, on the starboard side there is the same type hose that comes in from the blower vent area but this one goes over the engine compartment wall from the starboard trunk compartment and into the engine area. I also found that this hose is not connected to anything? Is that how it's supposed to be?

Now, I can see how it would work if these hoses were connected to some kind of "sucker" fan that was PULLING air from the rear compartments and the engine area and spitting it out the blower vents but I couldn't see anything in the vent hose line that would be pulling air through itself.

I guess I've never really looked at the blower setup before. I really hope it's just me being a dummy and I'm missing something.

Any help that anyone can provide would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

The powered venting is for when the boat isn't moving. All the rest of the venting system works with air flow while the boat is moving.

      Thanks for the reply!

And the powered venting only blows out one side of the boat and not both?

Yes, that is correct. The hose to nowhere is the intake for the blower motor or the discharge from the forced air vent. The purpose is to get the air from the bottom of the boat out as that is where the fuel vapors will collect.
