Shaft seal? Oil Change?

Upgraded to a 2003 SAN from an older Nautique and am changing the oil for the first time. I hooked the garden hose to the intake past the water filter after no luck using a 5 gallon bucket and a fake a lake. Anyway, a steady stream of water was running down the shaft towards the prop as I was warming up the engine. It was running fine through the exhaust. Also, does the Excalibur hold 4 or 5 qts of oil with the filter? I think I've read conflicting information.

The stream of water is probably coming from a dripless packing, its used to cool the seal when the boat is running. The excalibur takes 5 quarts with the oil filter, but you should always recheck your level after you run it.
