    slight pull to left, fix?

My 93 sport has always pulled to the left a little and is harder to steer in that direction. I dont have the adjustable tab like the newer boats but have heard that I can file one side of the rudder to make it more equal. I was wondering if people have done this and how exactly I would go about doing it. Thanks in advance

Your boat should pull like that. It is so the rudder is preloaded when you run the course.

It's not necessarily supposed to pull that way however some that primarily course ski prefer a loaded rudder.
You can definitely file the rudder to eliminate that pull, file lightly, test and repeat as necessary until you have it exactly as you like it.

Don't just go file indiscriminately. If you want the boat to torque left, you file the right side trailing edge. If you want it to torque to the right, you file the left side trailing edge. We are talking a small amount. Then put it in the water and test. Typically, you want a nautique to rotate left as you release the wheel. If you have no rudder torque, then the boat will have a wide dead spot at center wheel. With the rudder torqued properly, you will tighten up that center dead spot and make it so the boat responds quickly to steering input.

I would just leave it, you want to have a steady line while driving. As stated above, if your prop is evenly ground, you will have a dead spot, and have to constantly adjust left and right to drive straight.

That's how my 2001 is and I love it. It's not a lot, but just enough tension so that it tracks right. Although, mine certainly isn't hard to steer in either direction. She will willingly go where and when she's told, unlike my wife whom I follow around adoringly.
