Loose Ski Pylon with Fly High

I have just bought a Ski Nautique for the first time about a month ago. It is a 1995 Ski Nautique with the GT40. I recently added the Fly High Pylon and noticed the tower moving from side to side (not front to back) with heavier wake boarders. I went ahead and tightened the (4) nuts that attach the pylon to the boat. This reduced the movement, but did not eliminate it. The tower still moved to the left and right about 1 inch in each direction at the top of the 7' pole with heavier boarders. Is there reason to be concerned with this?

With that big of lever you're putting quite a bit of torque onto the pylon. I wouldn't be terribly concerned, as it's a pretty tough mount, but maybe someone can chime in with a better answer who has one on theirs, and tell you if their's moves.

You will see some movement, you have to realize that 1 inch of movement at the top of the pole (7ft) is basically zero at the mounting point. You are getting less than half of a degree of angular movement. That can easily be attributed to movement (bending) in the pole itself. If your mount is tight and there is no give at standard pylon height you have nothing to worry about.

FWIW, I'm 6'2" and weigh in at 225lbs. I'd guess there is at least an inch of movement if not slightly more when I cut to the flats on my Fly Hi pole.
