    2002 SAN ???

Just upgraded to a 2002 SAN from an old MC prostar and I'm loving it but I think my new purchase might have a slight leak. I took the new boat out for the first time for only about an hour cruise and after I put it on the trailer and pulled the plug it drained for 2-3 minutes! I'm guessing there was 5-10 gallons of water. I'm assuming this is not normal but I just had all the fluids changed and the boat looked over any they said it looked perfect, I'm not sure what to think or how concerned I should be. Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    water

Congrats on your purchase. I just found a water leak today with my 02 SANTE, the intake for the center ballast was loose and letting water in. Check all the intake fittings, the packing and you should see where the water comes in. It can also be your driving skills, if you slow to quick, the 02 has a vent at the back of the boat and water can enter. You have a bulge pump on the dash, you get in the habit of running it every 1/2 hour or so. Good luck. The 02's are a great boat. Did you get the Gt-40 or the Chevy motor?

      RE: water

I did notice that I was taking in a little water on my port side ballast when I was not trying to. Just slowly lets water in but not much. I will check all fittings to see if anything is loose. I have the Excalibur PCM and love it. Thanks I will look it over very carefully.

        RE: water

You guys need to turn on your bilge pumps the whole time you are running the boat. They have automatic switches built into them and they are meant to be left on. They cycle on and off every few minutes and if they sense water in the bilge they will pump it out. If no water is present then they will turn off after a few seconds. By the way most old school 210s leak along the seam at the bottom of the deck. Mine leaks only when its sacked out and the platform is below the water level.

          RE: water

I did turn on the bilge multiple times but no water ever came out. When I had the boat on the trailer with a slight incline the water drained towards the back, so I turned on the bilge and it spit a little water out but not much. This is after I pulled the plug and it had been draining for awhile. So if everything is functioning properly how much water should I expect to see when I pull the plug? I expected maybe a little water like my last ride but not nearly what came out after I pulled the plug.
