Code reader for Gt-40 (star tester)

I just picked up a used star tester used to read the codes in the ECM on the Gt-40's. Has anyone used one of these before, i want to make sure I dont hook it up wrong and erase my computer.

I have not used one before but I need one - where did you find yours ? Thanks.
I know there is a GT-40 engine technician manual on this website and you can down load it - it has all the instructions for the star tester - I am not sure of the actual link - I am sure someone will point us in the right direction.

Do a search on yahoo for PCM GT-40 manual; it's that fastest way to find the thread on here. At least that was how I found it.
