    04 SANTE Fuel Gauge/Sending Question?

Is the float for the fuel level shared between the fuel gauge and the digital fuel monitoring in the tach?

I'm curious becuase I was using the fuel monitoring information to judge when I needed to fill up--the fuel gauge (like most did not work from day one. Would read full tank after 12 hours of riding).

Now this weekend the fuel monitoring tanked (pun intendend). Filled up and at 28 mph said I had 3.2 running hours left. Problem never resolved.

Icap the fuel gauge system works thru a computer in the back of the boat(faria box) and it controls all of the gauges in the dash except the cruise control. You may have the fuel gauge disconnected or the plug not fully seated. You also may have a bad faria box which is coved under the warranty, which could give you wrong info at the gauges.

Thanks for the reply! So my assumption is/was correct, the information on the fuel level in the cell comes from a common pickup in the fuel cell.

The only reason I questioned it was when the boat was new, the gas gauge worked as they typically do--not at all. It read full until I had 10 gallons left and dropped to a 1/4 tank.

The fuel monitoring however was spot on--low fuel warning flashed in the digital display and I was really out of gas.

After 70 hours neither are working right.
