    Check engine light/"white" oil?

Greetings-2 items that I need some help with. My check engine light started coming on when we were using it today...temp good, oil pressure good...other ideas? Other issue, which may be related..when I checked my oil level today, I noticed that it was a bit milky white on the dip stick. After running it for a few minutes, it look normal. I have used it a 12+ times this year, checking the oil every time and it has appeared normal color. Water in oil??? and from where?? I have a 1999 Air Nautique.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Ir\t could be a number of things from a Blown head gasket to a rusted through exhaust manifold. The check engine light could be a knock sensor. if you have access to a code reader you should be able todownload the error codes from the ECM. I'v never heard of water in the oil going away after afew minutes. i would be worried about any water in the oil.

Maybe there was not much water and it boiled out. Could be a slow leak.

Could be a bit of condensation, i've seen it before inside the oil cap on cars

running the motor can mix up the water/oil so that you cant see it on the dip stick. It has to sit to settel back out before you can see it again. If you had water in the oil it did nt just go away, you need to figure out where it came from. If its a small amount, it could have been condensation but you need to make sure its not a more serious problem.
