    A Few things really

Got a few probs below on my 1994 196 Project (these are the last 2 jobs)

1 Oil pressure gauge is off the scale soon as I turn the igniton on ? Ive removed the cable from the sender and the gauge falls to zero, So i replaced the sender unit and the gauge continues to read incorrectly ( full deflection).

2 Now the motor is running I cant stop it !!! I can take the key out and she continues to run.Pulling the kill switch does not work either !! Only way to stop the motor is pull the coil lead out.

3 Ive just replaced my Protec coil pack with a Ski Dim dizzy replacement.

Did someone here say the packs were worth something even if they are not functioning correctly ??

As ever many thnaks in advance

Oil pressure gauge: Ensure that you are using a Marine sending unit. Automotive sending units will not work properly and will cause the gauge to peg. Also ensure that the wire from the sending unit is not shorting to ground.

Engine not turning off: Not sure about this one, but I am sure it has happened to others. But, key switch or lanyard is not kille power lead to coil/engine. Seems you might have some sort of wiring issue that you need to track down...sure could be related to the oil pressure guage issue.

To my knowledge, only working ProTec coils are worth anything. Your engine had two, and probably only one of the two failed...sell the good one.
