    The only issue I've seen before in a holly is corrosion in the plates from water sitting in there over time. "In the old days, you could buy replacement plates/blocks...whatever they're called.

        Well, given the feedback I've decided that I'm going to check the fuel pressure from the pump (I bought a fuel pump tester at HF today) to see if it is consistent and sufficient for the carb. I will also check the screen at the top of the fuel supply leading in to the carb to see if it is plugged.

        I guess I just find it odd that when I'm experiencing the problem, there is absolutely no fuel coming out...and given that it is sporadic, that makes it even worse. Hopefully it is as simple as a clogged screen or a failing fuel pump...do fuel pumps die a sporadic death?

        Anyway, thanks again for all the feedback, I really appreciate it.
