I have a 1975 ski nautique with 351. Water does not seem to be running through engine. With water running into engine should water be coming out of exhaust imediatly or should it take a while? Any suggestions on what could be the prob?

it may take a little while before your t-stat opens. feel the backside of your impeller and your hoses. if they are cool, no problem. if they are hot, then there is a problem.
