? how to reset PP ??

I want to reset ("system reset") my perfect pass and have tried the following from the manual:

System Reset – To reset the entire system back to original factory values, press & hold ON/OFF & MENU Keys together as you turn key on to power PerfectPass. Continue holding for a few seconds until [ System Reset ^ = Yes ] appears. Then simply answer questions as they appear.

To "key on" I turn the power on through the keypad.

I think I have the 6.5ng TBW digital pro.

What is the trick to reset this darn thing?

"key on" is referring to ignition.
With ignition off. Press and hold PP 'ON/OFF' and 'MENU' keys simultaneously. As you do so, 'key on' the ignition.
The PP should power on with the ignition. You haven't got PP permanently powered have you??

It is all factory wiring. I've held the two buttons down with one hand....then with the other hand typed in the keypad code, then "start" , and "start" again to power on. PP powers up on the second "start" ....wait....wait....no rest. Just PP in the regular mode.

It takes a few seconds for PP to go into reset. If you release the buttons early, it will just go into normal mode. Keep both buttons pressed for several seconds.
I know it works, I have tried it..... Honest!!

I can't tell. It doesn't catch every time. The first time it worked I thought it was because I came from a complete cold start...keypad power up / start / start.

But I have also got it to work after a stop/start ... follow me?

It seams it would be easier and more foolproof to have a helper press the start button while the first person held the buttons down with two hands. Due to the way our fingers and thumbs were engineered, it is awkward to hold the two buttons down that long with one hand.

I've also assumed that yes=> prompt implies you press the other direction button if you want "No".

Out of curiosity, why would you need to reset PP?

                  Some reasons are (at least)

                  1. Clear names out of the skiers list. They can be changed but not deleted.

                  2. Restore all the variables to the factory settings like kx px crew wt, etc.

Also, it wasn't holding speed good so I thought resetting might help but it didn't. I need to tinker with the settings. I have never done so before but the previous owner had.

It does hold rpm PERFECT....within the 25 rpm set point.

Got it. I've never programmed mine. Haven't even tried so I have no idea how to do it. I just manually change the speed depending on who's riding. I think the programming would be a good idea. Maybe I'll try to figure it out.

                    Thanks AirTool.
