holly carb fuel problem.

One last question. I have a freind with the same carb that was on a 89 barefoot nautique (454). If I put this carb that was pulled off his boat that was running fine would it run on a 351. I also have a primary fuel bolw cover and a holly rebuild kit but if I can do this just by throwing on this other carb and be done I think that will be the rout I go. I am getting up at 7:30 AM and having a freind help me fix this by 10:30. The rtv did not work and I want this thing safe for the kids.

Chances are that the carb on the 454 sprays a different amount of fuel than that needed for the 351, but that is just an assumption. I would definitely swap the jet for your original and maybe more.... I don't really know how much the two would vary....

Thanks for all the help I am in grand travers bay in Mi near northport and the boat is running but not perfect. It has to warm up alot before it will idle and it will stall when I put it into forward. The boat also starts to get starved for fuel around 30mph. I am going to limp along out here every one is having a good time so I will have some one fix it when I get home.
